Patch Notes (v1.3.1.2) // First Batch of Feedback


ATTENTION!
SAVE FILES FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS ARE NO LONGER VALID!

BUGFIXES

  • Resolved an issue with flickering FloatingNumbers() and FloatingSprites(), everytime softScrolling was active.
  • Weapon Strain Tutorial will not pop up any more, while equipped with the Torch.
  • Boss Enemies wouldn't drop Bonus Shards.
  • Monster Drops can not drop on occupied Tiles anymore.


TWEAKS / BALANCING 

  • Killing a Member of currently attuned Covenant does not deny Loot and XP anymore, but will completely cancel Attunement.
  • Some of the more aggressive Sounds have been toned down in volume. Will continue to refine as see fit.
  • Revised Secret Doors (no more Pixel Hunting, instead a variety of patterns to detect).
  • Secret Doors  no longer use an Alpha Value to obscure their presence from the distance (being blinded still makes them invisible).
  • Blind Condition now may also cured by interacting with Candelabras or getting hit by Fire AoE (tied to isIlluminated()-Check).
  • Being poisoned does not force +1 Regeneration anymore.
  • Number of collectible Crystal Shard-Items is now constant, just the Stage on which they are appear is randomized (any Crystal Shards left in your possession after dying - or completing the game - will define your Score eventually, once that particular System has been implemented).


CONTENT AND MECHANICS

  • Closing the Map will now highlight all known Items in the vicinity, displaying their actual Class for the remainder of the turn. Red Color means, the Item is cracked or (for Consumables) only has 1 Charge left.
  • Added a dynamic Tutorial for Equipment cracking.
  • Added a small Cove in the second Region, with a Tombstone Reminder about Hotkeys.
  • Added a Tombstone on 3rd Stage, teaching about Blinded  Ailment.


POLISH AND QUALITY OF LIFE-IMPROVEMENTS

  • Revised all Wall Sprites (New, more realistic Front View).
  • More detailed Logo/Title Menu.
  • Revised Color Schemes for Message Boxes.
  • Random Boss Name Generator will now disregard any creations with more than 3 subsequent consonants.
  • Message Boxes without selection prompt can now be cancelled by pressing ANY Key.
  • Pickup Better/Worse-Effect now also plays, when initially equipping an Item, and also when dropping Items (does not apply for Torch).
  • Pickup Messages for equipable Items will only be displayed once, upon first time equipping respective Class.
  • While browsing Notes, it will now show x/x, whereby seccond number refers to maximum number of Pages (for that Note) you have found already, not the total number of existing Pages (for that Note).
  • Reading Notes after just having them picked up now hides Page Index (less confusing).
  • Got rid of the "X has perished Message".
  • Pickup Message for Crystal Shards will only be displayed for the first time. Afterwards only via visual effect.
  • "World Seed"-Selection Window is now a custom Requester Box with sensible arrangement of elements and clear instructions, and also has been revised to appear less confusing and hacky.
  • Some of the Wording has been revised.
  • Slightly increased visibility of Secret Passage Effect.
  • Starting the Game for the very first time will now skip the prompt for choosing to reroll World Seed.
  • Being blinded now has a visual effect on Player Appearance (dithering shade).


SYSTEM AND PERFORMANCE

  • Added a safeguard to detect, whether WorldSeed-ID does  match with newer version to prevent corrupted data from an outdated version crashing the game. In that case, SaveGame will be deleted, World Seed rerolled and game restarts.
